God is angry. He finds the behaviour of some of mankind appalling. He decides to intervene and commences to dispense summary justice. It is decided to send an emissary to earth to help man rediscover his faith, and Joshua a 20-year-old student at the Royal Academy of Music is the chosen one. Joshua returns to the human condition 30 years after his violent end. Joshua is well-meaning, but not much of a missionary.
He falls in love and gets tangled up with Freddie Fluck a free-lance journalist. His attempts to convince anyone that he really is a divine messenger are not entirely successful. Joshua’s mission is further complicated when God decides to pay a visit to London to get close to the human condition. The Interventions is above all a love story but also a darkly humorous examination of the human condition in twenty first century Britain.
